Washington, D.C. (October 15, 2018) — Numotion, a leading provider of power wheelchairs and other complex rehab technology, recently reached an important milestone of more than $1 million in contributions to The ALS Association. The ALS Association Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter celebrated the milestone at the Portland Walk to Defeat ALS on September 23.
During the Walk’s opening ceremony, Justin Richardson, executive director of the Numotion Foundation, said, “We chose to celebrate this milestone in Portland today, in large part, due to the strength of our local relationships [….] Our team members here today walk on behalf of nearly 2,500 Numotion employees in more than 150 locations, many of whom are participating in or have recently participated in events much like this in their own communities nationwide,” he added. “Most importantly, today we walk and roll in honor and support of each of you. [….] Thank you for the opportunity to stand beside you as partners in the fight to defeat ALS.”
Numotion has partnered with the Association since 2013 to help raise dollars and awareness toward the fight against ALS. The company has contributed over $1 million to advance the Association’s mission through cash sponsorships to support national programs, chapter support and sponsorships, and in-kind donations of power chairs and other equipment to the Association’s loan closet programs throughout the country.
In addition, many Numotion employees participate in fundraising efforts for Walk to Defeat ALS events. So far this year, over 145 Numotion volunteers have raised an additional $10,000 beyond their national and local commitments.
