Numotion's COVID-19 Response: What you Need to Know

Brentwood, Tenn. (July 13, 2021) – Numotion, the nation’s leading and largest provider of products and services that provide mobility, health, and personal independence is pleased to announce that it has been named a Best place to Work for Disability Inclusion after receiving a score of 100 on the 2021 Disability Equality Index® (DEI).

DEI is a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN. The DEI is a comprehensive disability inclusion assessment tool that allows leading businesses to self-report their disability practices and policies.

"We are so pleased to partner with 319 companies this year on the Disability Equality Index. Part of corporate commitment to disability inclusion is recognizing your stance and using it as an 'aha moment' to drive the business investments needed to scale change. Inclusion and accessibility cuts across the enterprise, from cultural representation in the workforce, to technology acceleration, to incorporating supply chain diversity. These are tangible opportunities that leading companies can leverage to create sustainable impact for their business and brand,” said Jill Houghton, President & Chief Executive Officer, Disability:IN.

“Disability awareness is a core part of Numotion’s values and culture of inclusion,” said Mike Swinford, Numotion Chief Executive Officer. “The best way to attract, retain, and grow talent with disabilities is to create an accessible and inclusive workplace. The Disability Equality Index provides the necessary tools towards evaluating our ongoing disability initiatives while also keeping us up-to-date of changes and recommendations that can enhance our efforts.”

The DEI takes about 40 hours to complete each year and is completed online. It is modeled off the Corporate Equality Index that highlights LGBTQ-inclusive workplace policies. The DEI was created by the DEI Advisory Committee, a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts and disability advocates. Now in its seventh year, the DEI exists to help businesses make a positive impact on the unemployment/underemployment of people with disabilities.
