Ryan_Martin_Foundation_300_77_c1-(1).JPGWhat a whirlwind it's been the last few weeks for the Ryan Martin Foundation (RMF) as we have completed the summer 2015 camp schedule!

With camps in Marshall, MN, Philadelphia, PA, Pennsylvania, PA and Canton, MA our camp season has come to a bittersweet close! I wanted to recap the last bit of the summer schedule and share with my loyal Numotion readers an exciting announcement for the RMF!

The camp in Minnesota was the first camp under head coach Derek Klinker at Southwest Minnesota State University.

This was the first time I've been back to campus in years, getting to work with the college players in addition to future Mustangs. In total, we had 25 athletes who got a first look at what life is like on campus as a student-athlete! After 4 days of round the clock basketball, and a meeting with SMSU president, Dr. Connie Gores, then it was three hours of travel up to the cities to make my flight for the camp in Philadelphia!

The camp in Philadelphia is always a pleasure to attend because I get to work with a well organized, highly talented group of athletes from Katie's Komets, under the direction of former SMSU college teammate, Keith Newerla. Having spent a lot of days working with his charges over the past few years, it was awesome to see the strides they are making individually and collectively! It's awesome every year to go down there and work with Diamond and watch her passion for competition, and her zest for life, despite severe challenges! She literally makes all the sleepless nights and endless travel for the RMF 100% worth it!! Or little Joey, who at 13, played in the RMF 3rd annual Hall of Fame game, and was given the nickname the "Philadelphia Franchise." He had the entire crowd waiting on his every move!

The last camp of the summer just wrapped up last week and featured a lot of young talent that has a lot of potential in the sport! At Massachusetts Hospital School, where I commuted and played basketball in high school, the kids were eager and had a passion to learn! Thanks to Meghan Anderson and MHS for their efforts to help return a junior team back to Massachusetts, where a long history of successful teams and players has been forgotten. Also a special shout out to representatives of the Boston Celtics who came down and got into the action competing in skills competitions and playing a little 3-on-3!
