Cleaning-velcro-pic.jpg1.  Get a metal dog brush.
A metal dog brush works very well for cleaning velcro. Brush the velcro vigorously with the dog brush to remove hair and debris.

2.  Get a roll of duct tape. Another great option is to use a piece of duct tape to clean velcro. Place the duct tape on the soft side of the velcro and press gently so the debris transfers to the tape. Pull the tape from the velcro to remove debris.

3.  Cleaning velcro is important for safety. Once debris has been removed from velcro, your  cushion will adhere to the wheelchair better and shift less during transfers.
