Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Carrie now resides in the Florida Panhandle with her boyfriend and dog. Carrie was injured in 1997 in a motor vehicle collision, and sustained a spinal cord injury and complete paraplegia. In 2008 she started handcycling recreationally with a group of riders at the Bay Area Outreach Program in Berkeley, CA. Carrie began to race handcycles competitively, which led to a spot on the US National Team in 2011. In 2013, Carrie took second in the the world’s longest wheelchair/handcycle, Alaska’s Sadler Challenge. In 2014, Carrie began her career as an ATP, and joined the Numotion team in 2017. In addition to handcycling, Carrie enjoys boating and traveling.
