I wanted to update you on all things going on in my world and with Ryan Martin Foundation. In this post I will update everyone on RMF's program development with the University of Connecticut & other collegiate adaptive sports programs. Very excited to share with you about the continued development of the RMF junior wheelchair basketball program and my upcoming season win the New York Rolling Knicks!
 
 
University of Connecticut/Husky Adapted:
 
Having spent the several months navigating the channels of creating an adaptive sports program at a collegiate level, we can finally get started. November 30th we will host our kick off wheelchair basketball event on the campus of Storrs, Connecticut. The University that has a storied history with several national championships in both their men's & women's basketball programs. We have embarked on creating an elite level wheelchair basketball program at the "home of college basketball’s arsenal!” Joining us for the kickoff event with be Steve Serio, (@steveserio11) 2016 Men's Wheelchair Basketball gold medalist. Steve, among other topics, will discuss the value of having elite level wheelchair basketball at UConn and reflect on his experience as a collegiate athlete at the University of Illinois.  RMF Junior Program:
 
The RMF junior program began its season a in early October as it participated in the kick-off event hosted by the Connecticut Spokebenders. It was the first game action for many of the RMF athletes and they competed valiantly against much older/experienced athletes. The play on Frankie Mute & Jeremy Tantsits stood out in a weekend of development. The competition the junior players faced this past weekend will be important for the development and progression of the athletes going forward as we begin the Jr. NWBA schedule in November. I have to take a minute to brag about the little state of Connecticut and the fact we have three established wheelchair basketball programs. For a state this small, it's a great accomplishment for the adaptive sports community.

 
New York Rolling Knicks:
 
This season will be my second season back playing in the USA for the New York Rolling Knicks, after several years playing professionally in Europe. After losing in heart breaking fashion to Dallas in double overtime, we start the season trying to make changes needed to claim the illusive championship. With preseason games out of the way and various events with the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden we can now set our sights on the regular season starting in Washington D.C., in December.
