This past July, Numotion acquired SpinLife, the market leader in online retail Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for the aging population as well as people living with disabilities. SpinLife, established in 1999 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, provides a wide variety of DME categories including scooters, lifts, power and manual wheelchairs, and a growing number of exclusive products as well as other accessibility equipment. While the acquisition boosted Numotion’s e-commerce reach in the DME space, it most notably extends customer reach with more options to people with all levels of mobility-related needs.

SpinLife has an outstanding reputation in the market and is known for their high-touch product expertise and white-glove customer service. Numotion’s footprint of 150-plus brick-and-mortar locations complement the ecommerce presence, National Service Network and catalog distribution of SpinLife. Together, Numotion and SpinLife will drive speed to market with new products, creative ideas, and innovation that better meet customers’ changing needs.

“Their unique and innovative retail business model and customer focus are incredible complements to our business and brings together the two market leaders in retail and third-party reimbursed products. This powerful combination enables us to expand our capabilities to better serve more customers with a broader portfolio of products and services,” said Mike Swinford, Numotion CEO.

SpinLife brings a base of 80,000 annual customers to Numotion, which served more than 260,000 people in 2020.

“The opportunity to serve more customers, all while having a greater impact on improving accessibility and inclusion across the communities we serve, is extremely exciting and we are thrilled to work with the Numotion to make this happen,” said Pattiann McAdams, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Numotion’s new Retail Division.
