Connecticut Wheelchair Repair Rights Notice
Connecticut law requires authorized wheelchair dealers to inform consumers of their rights regarding wheelchair repairs.
You Have the Right to Timely Repairs
If your wheelchair was sold or leased by an authorized wheelchair dealer, the dealer is required to provide timely repair services for your wheelchair, including complex rehabilitation technology (CRT) wheelchairs.
You Have the Right to Request In-Home Repairs
If you use a complex rehabilitation technology (CRT) wheelchair, you may request that repairs be performed at your home.
How to Request Repairs
Authorized wheelchair dealers must maintain:
- A telephone number for repair requests
- An email address for repair requests
These communication methods must be available each business day and capable of receiving and recording messages.
Required Response Times
When you request a repair:
- The authorized wheelchair dealer must respond to your repair request within one business day of receiving it.
- The dealer must order required repair parts within three business days after determining the repair needs or after receiving any required insurance authorization.
