Overview


Complex Rehab Technology for seating and wheeled mobility is a unique branch of the assistive technology field. It is essential for the individuals in the evaluation team, clinicians and suppliers, to understand the evaluation processes involved in recommendation of seating and wheeled mobility technology. This course provides an overview of the important evaluation process with an emphasis on the physical mat assessment. This course will provide the participant with details of the physical mat assessment as well as how those details are used in equipment recommendations. During the lab section, the participants will be provided guided practice of components of the postural assessment.

Learning Objectives

  1. The participant will be able to list two possible goals of the evaluation.
  2. The participant will be able to name two bony prominences of the pelvis used to describe pelvic position.
  3. The participant will be able to list two outcomes from a mat evaluation.
  4. The participants will be able to two key angles from the mat evaluation.
  5. The participant will be able to name three key linear measurements from the mat evaluation.
