Overview

You know what your client needs, but how do you effectively communicate that to Medicare in your documentation to qualify them per Medicare’s policy guidelines? You used to know the answer; or you thought you did, but in this environment of constant changes in interpretation with Federal funding, you’re just not sure anymore. We’re here to explain Medicare’s guidelines simply and apply the guidelines to real clinical situations so that you have the answers you need to document your client’s need for power tilt, power recline or power tilt and recline combination effectively and easily — on the first try.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of Medicare guidelines for power seating on a powered wheelchair base.
  2. Participant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the clinical presentation that will qualify a customer for a tilt/recline power seating system vs. a tilt or recline only power seating system.
  3. Participant will be able to demonstrate comprehension of what Medicare is looking for in clinical documentation for justification of power tilt, power recline or power tilt/recline combination systems.
