Overview


Taking a basic overview approach, this course will walk you through how to differentiate between manual and powered wheelchairs. You will learn how to recognize common diagnoses for both children and adults who require seating and wheeled mobility, while considering the various features and benefits that the equipment has to offer and how these features can directly enhance clients’ quality of life.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will be able to recognize the use of at least two different mobility products.
  2. Participants will be able to identify the correct mobility device for three different diagnoses & medical conditions.
  3. Participants will be able to differentiate classifications of manual and power wheelchairs.
  4. Participants will be able to identify the parts of a wheelchair and the importance of setting up the wheelchair correctly to maximize function.
