Tamara is a 38-year-old married mother of three. She owns a tax service and credit consulting business. Tamara loves spending time with her family and they enjoy a game night together at least once a week.

Advocating for others with disabilities is one of her favorite hobbies. In 2019 Tamara's disability mentoring efforts led her to win the title of Ms. Wheelchair Louisiana 2019. Ms. Wheelchair Louisiana is an advocacy-based competition and Tamara does virtual speaking events for disability-related groups around the state. She plans to compete in the Ms. Wheelchair America Competition in 2021.

In 2001, Tamara sustained a T5 Spinal Cord Injury due to a car accident. She has been a Numotion customer for 18 years and said, "All of my needs have been met, whether it was accessibility or equipment needs."

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges in Tamara's life, she works to keep a positive
outlook and hope for the future. Tamara knows that she and others with disabilities are at higher risk for complications if they contract COVID-19. "My advice during the pandemic is to stay home unless you must go out. Most grocery shopping can be done online with pickup and delivery options. Most importantly, if you go out use PPE and wash your hands frequently.”

Tamara tries to live life to the fullest every day, even when faced with disability-related challenges. Tamara stated, "Life can change in the blink of an eye. I don't want to wake up one day and realize life has passed me by and I'm stuck in the same situation. I wake up, say a prayer, and push myself through whatever challenges I face whether good or bad."
