From New Player to National Competitor
Geoffrey’s Story
Diagnosis: Spinal Cord Injury | Numotion Customer Since 2024
Born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Geoffrey has always enjoyed working on cars and built a career as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic. Less than two years after a life-changing accident, he is back to doing what he loves: competing, connecting with others, and pushing himself to new heights.
Geoffrey found a new passion through adaptive sports after being introduced to wheelchair pickleball by Adaptive Pickleball (APB), a nonprofit organization. He quickly discovered a community that challenged and inspired him.
“I got involved with wheelchair pickleball through APB,” Geoffrey said. “They have a nonprofit league and let me try it out.”
Geoffrey has been a Numotion customer since the beginning of his journey and says having reliable equipment and support has made all the difference.
“So far Numotion has been great to work with,” he said. “They are pretty speedy with the repairs and all very friendly.”
Today, his wheelchair represents far more than mobility.
“My wheelchair is now just an addition to my body. It carries me everywhere I want to go.”
– Geoffrey
Less than two years after his injury, Geoffrey competed at the inaugural Numotion USA Pickleball Wheelchair National Championships, an accomplishment that means more than he ever imagined.
“Being part of the championship is huge to me because I haven’t been injured that long,” Geoffrey said. “I also got some amazing resources while I was in Colorado.”
For Geoffrey, the championship represents more than competition. It marks how far he’s come in less than two years and the new opportunities he’s found through adaptive sports.
