Will all of my equipment be covered?

To get insurance coverage for Complex Rehab Technology, your insurance provider must determine you have a “medical necessity” for CRT. This means you must have a condition that requires the equipment to prevent, diagnose, or treat an illness, injury, condition, disease or its symptoms.  Coverage will vary from policy to policy; however, in general most mobility items are covered by insurance when submitted with medically appropriate documentation.





How long will it take to get my wheelchair? What does the process entail?

Knowing the role everyone plays in fulfilling your mobility prescription is important. This includes your clinical team, your physician and your insurance company. We will work with everyone involved to get you your equipment as prescribed, and have it arrive as timely as possible. Please know, due to insurance requirements for documentation, as well as prior authorization, this can take some time and is also highly variable based on a number of factors both in and out of Numotion’s control. We will do all we can to keep you apprised of your order.

Here is a sample timeline so you can understand the process:

1. Evaluation ~ 1 week

  • Measurement and fitting by ATP
  •  Insurance verified
  • Custom configuration design from ATP

2. Medical documentation ~ 3-5 weeks

  • Technical review of the order
  • Clinical assessment and justification*
  • Submit to funding source for approval*

3. Funding approval process ~ 4-10 weeks*

  • Authorizations and clarifications
  • Submission of added information

4. Building the chair ~ 2-8 weeks

  • Purchase components
  • Receive and verify
  • Assemble and quality check

5. Delivery ~ 1 week

  • Schedule
  • Final fitting and adjustments

What if I would like to upgrade my equipment or purchase a mobility item that is not covered by my insurance?

If the upgrade or desired product still meets your mobility needs and goals, and will not hinder your mobility, you do have the option at any time to simply pay for it out of pocket. Please talk with your ATP to determine what options are available to you.
