August lives with muscular dystrophy, hindering the use of his legs. August’s Permobil M300 3G fulfills his mobility needs. The independence his wheelchair provides allows him to thrive in school, visit the beach and explore the island he calls home.

“August’s chair is the single most important thing in his life and quite literally his ‘legs’.”

August’s home is more than three hours away from the closest Numotion location — in Nantucket, Massachusetts — a small island southeast of Martha’s Vineyard. The trip requires several hours in the car and a ferry ride, but Numotion service technicians, Bill and David, did not let the distance stop them. Getting them to August was a team effort, made largely possible by August’s family and the branch’s service manager. Recently, the pair traveled on a Saturday so the trip would not disrupt service needed by other customers during regular work hours.

“I commend the professionalism, work ethic and kindness of Numotion employees, David and Bill. These two gentlemen are not only highly skilled in their work, but have also demonstrated a great generosity of heart and patience in their interactions with August.”
