Bill, a husband, father and athlete, found himself living life in a wheelchair after a cycling accident. His family accommodated his needs at home by moving frequently used items in the kitchen to lower locations, but he found that his social life was harder to adjust. At six-feet tall, Bill didn’t enjoy being “talked down to” by his friends and wife.
Bill was the first person in the United States to use the Tek Robotic Mobilization Device (RMD). Tek RMD allows Bill to independently and safely sit, stand and navigate environments that were once inaccessible. With his new mobilization device, Bill found independence and rebuilt his confidence.
“My favorite way to use the Tek RMD is at parties we host. I’m able to easily maneuver around our guests, but most importantly, talk to them at eye level. It makes me feel more confident, and allows me to better engage with people.”
