Numotion's COVID-19 Response: What you Need to Know

Lauren started at Numotion as an Augmentative Communications Specialty Account Manager in October 2020.

Prior to joining Numotion Lauren worked as a speech-language pathologist (SLP) in school-based settings for about 10 years where she found herself frequently working with the consultants at Numotion to get communication devices for her students. “They were always extremely helpful to me in talking through ideas when I needed help, getting through the process of obtaining a communication device for a client, and being there to provide ongoing support even after the device had been delivered. I was excited to join Numotion so that I would be able to work with individuals across the lifespan to find their perfect communication system.”

Lauren has always had a passion for working with individuals with complex communication needs. “I believe that everyone should have a way to share their voice, their thoughts, and have a way to communicate independently. Working in this role allows me to help so many individuals to do that! The best thing about my job is seeing someone able to communicate in a way they could not before. I love hearing from an SLP or a parent who says their client/child has been able to communicate something that they have never been able to say before!”

Like many, things have been very different during the pandemic, but Lauren has found new ways to teach others about AAC and communication devices. Since starting at Numotion, Lauren has been part of creating a series of virtual resources for SLPs and parents to better allow individuals to be able to continue the process of obtaining a communication device, even though so many closures. “It has been great to share what I know about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) with other SLPs so that they can continue to work towards getting a communication system for their clients.

Sibling Numotion Speech Designs customers Caleb and Hannah have shared their stories and joys of working with Lauren. “Caleb and Hannah are so much fun to work with! I have loved getting to hear what they have to say with their communication devices. Both Caleb and Hannah have great personalities and it has been exciting to work with them, their mom, and their SLPs on how they can use and personalize their devices to show all they know and what they want to say!”
