Using Smart Technology in Your Home

  1. Take advantage of smart technology. Searching for the light switch in the dark isn’t safe, and spending hours looking for a remote isn’t efficient. Smart technology is a great resource to help you be more independent in your home.
  2. Learn about the available options – there are so many! Think about what you could use help with – and see what products are out there. There are a variety of speaker assistants, like Google Home and Amazon Alexa, that use voice commands to adjust the thermostat, turn on/off lights, start/stop the laundry and even lock the doors!
  3. Consider the interoperability of the options you choose. Work with a professional, or do your research, to make sure every product you choose will work compatibly with the others.
