Kris is a father of 8 children ranging from 20 years old to 18 months. In November of 2015, Kris was hit crossing a street by a car going 45mph resulting in him becoming an incomplete C4-C7 spinal cord injury survivor. Kris said he has a huge, wonderful family and is blessed to be here today and doesn’t take it for granted because it could be gone in the blink of an eye.

Kris has been working with Numotion for 3 years finding greater independence and mobility with his equipment. Numotion Assistive Technology Professional, Tom Simon, and Customer Care Coordinator, Kathryn Murphy have played an essential role in making Kris’ Numotion experience a great one.

Most recently Kris and his wife had planned on eloping in Mexico. July 1st was approaching fast for him and his soon-to-be wife and he wanted to order a Smart Drive, power assist equipment. “The order for the smart drive was in full swing. With my insurance, you have to make sure all the ducks are in a row all the boxes are checked and of course, some of the boxes got checked too early and we were going to have to do had to do a seating eval and a face-to-face meeting with my doctor again. In early June, Kathryn Murphy saw that everything wasn’t going to match up and I wouldn’t get the smart drive before we leave. Kathy then gets everything set up with my therapist and Tom my Numotion ATP so we can redo my seating eval. We still weren’t 100% that the smart drive was going to arrive in time. With only a couple weeks to go Kathy kept me in the loop about the order status and when it was coming,” said Kris. “Four days before we leave Kathy emails me telling me it should be here the next day and the Numotion representative will be out to install the equipment! Well, the next day she calls me and tells me that the address on the smart drive box was wrong. So, this awesome lady goes above and beyond and figures out where it was and sends the Numotion representative to go retrieve it and get it to me. The address was off by two numbers.”

Kris, his wife to be and his new smart drive made it to Mexico for their wedding. Expressing his gratitude, Kris said, “thank you, Kathryn, all I got to say is me and my wife will kiss ya if we see ya!”
