Wes is originally from Devils Lake, ND and lived in Alaska for over 20 years, where he worked with Edward Jones and we raised his family. Wes loves hockey and music. Before his diagnosis, Wes loved to play hockey, run marathons, play his guitar and sing with kids at farmer's markets and various pubs.
In April 2020, Wes was diagnosed with ALS and received a power wheelchair from Numotion. Since Wes is a huge Minnesota Wild Ice Hockey fan, Numotion decked his chair out in Minnesota Wild colors. Stephanie, Wes’ wife said that their Numotion team has been fabulous. “Everyone from Numotion that we have worked with seems to care about the customer. They went above and beyond in making suggestions, such as helping me find door hinges online so the chair can get through the bedroom and bathroom doors.”
Wes is still coming to terms with his diagnosis and becoming weaker due to the ALS but is excited to have his chair to use when his energy is running low. “Wes’ wheelchair allows him to do more with our family in the house without exerting the energy that tires him out. He still likes to use his walker for very short distances, however, this tires him out. Taking the chair to the MN Wild game allowed him to move about independently, as well as be very comfortable. It was also so nice to have the hooks on the chair for his medical equipment that must travel with him. He is very much looking forward to the weather warming up and taking the chair outdoors.”
