Power Seat Elevators

Anyone who has a power wheelchair can benefit from a Power Seat Elevator. The technology raises your seat 10- to 14-inches. This allows you to get eye level and reach heights that give you better access to countertops, cabinets and cooking surfaces.

Like all Complex Rehab Technology, Power Seat Elevators are individually configured, meaning that your chair will be customized to your needs. There are many configurations, including:

  • Width, depth, height, seat angles
  • Specialty and custom seat and back cushions
  • Positioning items like headrests and side and hip supports
  • Sophisticated powered tilt and recline functions
  • Manual and power elevating leg rests and foot platforms
  • Specialty joystick controls
  • Alternative drive controls including foot control, head control and sip-n-puff

Medical Necessity

To get insurance coverage for Complex Rehab Technology, your insurance provider must determine you have a “medical necessity.” This means you must have a condition that requires the equipment to prevent, diagnose, or treat an illness, injury, condition, disease or its symptoms.  

While insurers don’t always cover Power Seat Elevators, our team believes everyone in a power chair should have elevator technology. We promise to continue to advocate for its medical necessity.
