Dani started as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) at Numotion in February 2023. However, her journey with Numotion began much earlier, in 2021, during a rotation at Craig Hospital through Numotion and her Occupational Therapy (OT) school.

"My first exposure to Numotion was actually as a Case Manager for the Spinal Cord Commission," Dani recalls. "Working closely with Caitlin Miller, Director of Sales I admired her deeply caring nature and the impact she was making. Those feelings stuck with me and ultimately played a role in my career change."

Dani’s journey to becoming an ATP was influenced by her experiences during OT school and her a project she did on Complex Rehab Technology. "I had the opportunity to dive into what it would look like to use my clinical background in a way unlike other OT fields," Dani explains.

While Dani has worked with many resilient individuals, Ella and her family have made the greatest impact on her. Ella, an 11-year-old from Fort Smith, AR, has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Dani’s involvement in Ella’s case highlighted her ability to provide exceptional service and support.

"Ella had been in the same chair for five years," Dani explains. "When I met her family, she had been anxiously awaiting her new chair for well over a year from another provider. The chair continued to be held in their warehouse due to negligence and lack of follow-up. It was an arduous and upsetting fight for this family."

Dani stepped in to restart the process, ensuring Ella had a safe loaner chair within a week. With advocacy letters from Ella’s grandmother, Sherry, and her mother, Ashley, Dani expedited the process to deliver the new chair as quickly as possible.

With her new chair, Ella gained the freedom to cheer, play with her siblings, and accomplish daily activities at home safely. "Because of the freedom of having a safe chair, Ella is able to not only cheer and play with her siblings but also accomplish her own daily activities in her home," Dani shares.

Dani loves being part of others’ stories, even if only for a season. "The connections we make with families and the ability to impact their lives for the better really fuels my passion," says Dani. "I love the team at our office and genuinely look forward to coming to work every day."
