Rodney’s first exposure to Numotion was at a skilled nursing and assisted living home where he worked as an Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). At this facility, he was told by a Numotion Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) who he worked with about an open position as a Seating Technician at Numotion.

Rodney joined the Numotion team in April of this year. “I was intrigued by a career that would allow me to combine my joy of working with my hands as well as using the degree I earned,” said Rodney.

As a Seating Technician, Rodney works directly with Numotion customers to deliver and/or adjust equipment. “My favorite thing about my job is being at a different location and meeting new people every day,” said Rodney. “There are always new challenges whether it be with a piece of equipment or difficult diagnosis. It is great being able to provide clients with the equipment they need to be more independent and active in their community, and you can’t beat the excitement on a client’s face when their new piece of equipment rolls in the door.”

This role offers the potential to grow into a Numotion ATP. “I am happy in my current position as a seating technician. I believe a firm foundation as a seating tech will greatly improve my performance as an ATP in the future. Currently, my day-to-day role is allowing me to gain much of the experience I need. Our St. Louis team also organizes frequent in-services that provide information on new products and skills training.”
