Abigail’s Story
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy | Numotion Customer Since 2022
At just nine days old, Abigail’s life took a sudden turn when she experienced a cardiac arrest that led to a brain injury. Now four years old, she lives with cerebral palsy and epilepsy and uses both a tracheostomy and a g-tube. Born in Florida, Abigail’s family later moved to the Midwest, where she currently lives with her four lively sisters in a busy, love-filled home. Abigail’s days are full of joy and connection. She loves spending time with her sisters, watching her chickens explore the yard, and lighting up at anything musical or colorful.
The family’s journey with Numotion began in 2022 when Abigail was just 10 months old and ready for her first piece of equipment: a stander. It was important to her parents that she experience standing at the same time her twin sister was learning to pull herself up.
“Our experience from beginning to end acquiring her stander was nothing short of delightful. We were treated with such care, and the end result was witnessing our daughter in a completely new position—upright—and able to engage with her world in a new way while helping her body develop appropriately.”

Since then, Numotion has continued to play an important role in Abigail’s growth and independence.
Her family next worked with their local team to obtain a bath chair, which turned what was once a stressful part of the day into something fun and safe. Most recently, they received a KidWalk gait trainer. Watching Abigail “be able to transform quiet wanting into steady seeking is powerful” for everyone who knows her. “When she gets to walk, she is in charge, and she thrives on that sense of freedom,” her mom said. Whether she’s making her way toward her parents, her sisters, or a window to look outside, Abigail is discovering what it means to move for herself and go where she wants to go.
The Numotion team also helped the family select an activity chair that supports Abigail at a wide range of heights. It allows her to sit comfortably and engage with her family wherever they are, whether that is on the floor playing or at the table during mealtime. “We are so grateful for all that Numotion does, from figuring out the best accessibility aids through delivery of the life-changing equipment,” her family shared.
Their relationship with their Numotion team has grown close over the years. “We are on a first-name basis with our Numotion team at this point,” her parents said. “They are so kind, committed, and thorough in their work. Everyone clearly cares, and they go above and beyond for our girl.” From fittings to adjustments, the family has come to trust the team deeply.
The process of obtaining Abigail’s equipment has been smooth and efficient. Each piece of equipment has given Abigail new ways to participate and express herself. From taking slow, steady steps in her gait trainer to splashing safely in the tub, she continues to find moments of independence every day. Her mom described it best: “It is the difference between full dependence and glimmers of utter freedom. She gets to translate her desires to action, and we as her family could not be happier to watch that unfold for our rockstar girl.”
Now, as Abigail grows and her equipment needs evolve, the family continues to rely on their trusted Numotion team for adjustments and repairs. Each visit brings the same positive energy and attention to detail. “The technician is always super friendly and happy to be making repairs. We adore Numotion,” her family shared.
