Local Support, Everyday Confidence:
Joey’s Story
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy | Numotion Customer Since 2012
Joseph, who goes by Joey, grew up in Abingdon, Virginia and now lives in Blountville, Tennessee. At 46 he lives with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Each day, Joey relies on his wheelchair to help him stay mobile and connected to the routines and interests that matter most to him.

Joey enjoys spending his time watching YouTube videos and also attends online ministry college at Nazarene Bible College, where he continues his education and stays engaged from home.
He has been a Numotion customer since around 2012, and over the years, the people behind the equipment have made a lasting impression. “LOVE the people,” Joey shared. Early in his journey, he worked closely with Rocky, who helped repair and design at least two of his wheelchairs. Today, he continues working with his local team, including head technician Shaun.
Working with Numotion has been both practical and personal. Joey described the experience as “fun” and that he “loves that it’s local.” Knowing he has a nearby team has brought peace of mind when equipment needs attention.
The process of obtaining equipment has followed a familiar path. Joey explained that it begins with a doctor’s order, followed by processing and delivery. Before he ever used his current chair, the Numotion team worked on it to make sure everything was properly adjusted.
Service and repairs have been a positive part of that relationship. “They were great,” Joey said, adding, “I like Shaun’s sense of humor.” Those small moments help make ongoing support feel approachable and supportive.
For Joey, his equipment plays a simple but essential role. As he emphasized, it helps him get around, supported by a local team he trusts and enjoys working with.
