Driven by Purpose and Possibility
Shaunae: Assistive Technology Professional

Shaunae’s path into complex rehab began long before she officially joined Numotion. Her earliest exposure came through family, hands-on problem solving, and a deep understanding of what mobility means in everyday life.
She first entered the industry in the early 2000s, working as a remote service technician in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado. Supporting families in a rural area located hours from the nearest clinic required creativity and adaptability. The work was personal. Shaunae’s brother-in-law, Kody, was born with hydrocephalus and has relied on mobility equipment for most of his life. Living three hours from the closest branch meant equipment repairs often happened at home. Her father-in-law, a physical therapist, also worked closely with clinicians who traveled monthly to support the community.
After stepping away from the industry to raise her family, complete college, and move to Colorado Springs, Shaunae returned in March 2015. She spent six years as a Healthy Living Director, gaining leadership experience and supporting community well-being, before rejoining Numotion as a Customer Care Coordinator. From there, her background in Exercise Science and Human Performance, combined with her mechanical skillset, made the transition into a Seating Technician role and eventually becoming an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) a natural fit.
“For me it was the natural progression and a sprinkle of destiny along the way,” Shaunae shared. “Life experiences and my passion for thinking outside of the box drove my desire to do more in the complex rehab industry.”
Soon after, Shaunae relocated to Virginia to help develop services in a region similar to where her career began. Over five years, she helped build support from the ground up, eventually contributing to the opening of a brick-and-mortar location in Roanoke. In 2020, she transferred to Arizona, where she continues to serve families today.
Shaunae credits Numotion’s personalized approach for allowing ATPs to create meaningful solutions. “Numotion has always been the leader when it comes to complex rehab. The overall mission and its focus on a personalized approach is what allows our ATPs to be artistic, creative and meet our families’ functional needs.”
Shaunae
Some of Shaunae’s most meaningful work comes from long-term relationships with customers. One that stands out is Aden, a young boy living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. After insurance initially denied coverage for a new power chair, Shaunae worked with clinical teams and partners to secure approval and expedite delivery just in time for his birthday and the holidays. She even added custom touches to make the chair his own.
“Seeing his face light up, hearing his excitement and joining him and his family in this moment of joy is exactly why I am an ATP,” she shared.
Today, Aden has a chair that supports his independence at home and at school. For Shaunae, moments like these reflect the heart of her work. “Getting to know and grow with my customers and families and facilitate solutions that can meet any need.”
