Giving Voice to Possibility
Yvonne: AAC Specialist, Numotion Speech Solutions Since 2024
Yvonne joined Numotion Speech Solutions in November 2024, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist and a deep commitment to helping individuals communicate.
Before joining Numotion, Yvonne was familiar with the company’s reputation in mobility. It was not until a neighbor and friend introduced her to the Speech Solutions division that she realized there was an opportunity to expand her impact in a new way. At the time, she was exploring roles with other AAC companies, but Numotion stood out as a place where she could take a more active, hands-on role in supporting both clients and caregivers.
That desire was shaped by her experience in the field. “I was unimpressed with the level of support I was receiving from AAC consultants from other companies,” she shared. “I felt they had a ‘hands-off’ approach to the client and caregivers.”
Yvonne knew there was a better way. “I think the AT support for individuals who use AAC is an important role and team member, one that should be active and ongoing,” she said.
Throughout her career, she has remained committed to staying informed on current research, trends, and evidence-based practices. Her passion has centered around two key areas: enabling parents and caregivers to play an active role in the therapeutic process, and supporting young children with Autism who have language delays or are nonverbal.
At Numotion, she has found the opportunity to bring those passions together. Her role allows her to combine clinical expertise with creativity and problem-solving while working closely with both individuals and their support systems. “The patient’s success is ultimately the motivation behind the role,” she shared.
Yvonne’s passion for communication has remained constant. “Progress and success in communication have always been my passion. Numotion allows me to be a team member, motivator, and solutions provider in the therapeutic process.”

That passion comes to life in moments with customers like Amber. During their time working together, Yvonne helped identify a solution that would allow Amber to both communicate and independently drive her power wheelchair using eye gaze technology, even outdoors in sunlight, where many systems struggle.
“This one client has a lot to say, and she kept her standards high,” Yvonne said. Determined to find the right solution, she brought the device directly to Amber’s home and set it up on her wheelchair so it could be tested in real-world conditions.
The result was immediate. “It worked so well, and she was overjoyed, as we all were—her helper, her father, and me,” Yvonne shared.
Yvonne watched as Amber gained a new level of independence in real time. “I watched her drive right out of her house and down her driveway using Eye Gaze Ability Drive to steer her wheelchair while communicating her feelings and excitement on the device I provided!”
For Yvonne, it is difficult to name just one favorite experience. Supporting an AAC clinic with ongoing device needs can be just as meaningful as working through complex cases that require multiple visits and creative problem-solving. What matters most is being present in the moment communication happens.
Whether she is collaborating with families, clinicians, or care teams, the goal is always the same: helping individuals find their voice and fully participate in the world around them.
