Elizabeth’s Story

Elizabeth is from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a mom to a one-year-old little boy. She loves to travel, hike, hula hoop, and practice adaptive yoga. In August of 2015, she was on her way home when her driver’s side tire blew out and caused her car to veer off the road. Her car flipped multiple times down a hill and eventually wrapped itself around a concrete manhole resulting in her spine being severed in half.

Amaya’s Story

Amaya is fourteen years old from Slidell, Louisiana. Amaya loves music and dancing; she is a part of a special needs dance therapy group and performs in recitals every year and attends a weekly dance class. At two years old, Amaya was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and this past year was diagnosed with Lennox Gastaut syndrome, a type of epilepsy.

Wes’s Story

In April 2020,  Wes was diagnosed with ALS and received a power wheelchair from Numotion. Since Wes is a huge Minnesota Wild Ice Hockey fan, Numotion decked his chair out in Minnesota Wild colors. Stephanie, Wes’ wife said that their Numotion team has been fabulous.

Josh’s Story

Josh Basile is a trial attorney living in the suburbs outside of Washington DC. In 2004, Josh was injured at the age of eighteen on a family vacation at the beach. A wave picked him up and slammed him headfirst against the ocean floor shattering his neck.

Jake’s Story

Jake is two and a half years old from Kentucky. He is one of four children and was added to his family through the gift of domestic adoption, with his family claiming, “Jake is the best part of us!” At four months old, Jake began experiencing movement difficulties as well as developmental delays and feeding difficulties and was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy.

Tyler’s Story

Tyler is thirty-six years old from Snohomish, Washington. Tyler is a C1 quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck down from a diving accident in 2012. In the summer, Tyler enjoys skydiving, scuba diving, sunbathing and pretending he is Formula One race car driver as he tears through his property. In the winter he enjoys watching football, reading, and learning a new skill at least once per year.

Evelyn’s Story

Evelyn is three and a half years old and loves Sesame Street, swimming, sledding in the snow, and will become a big sister this summer. Evelyn was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome which affects the way the brain develops, causing a progressive loss of motor skills and speech.

Paulina’s Story

Paulina is thirteen years old and loves to listen to music and swing outside in her spider swing. She has an infectious laugh and especially enjoys it when one of her five siblings; three sisters, and two brothers play with her. Paulina was born with cerebral palsy and autism in Ukraine but is currently living in Arkansas.

Deborah’s Story

Deborah is fifty-four years young originally from Ohio but currently resides in Tennessee. She has been a wheelchair user since 2012 from an auto accident resulting in a spinal cord injury.

Olivia’s Story

Olivia was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type II at one year old and received her first wheelchair at two years old. SMA causes the muscles to slowly deteriorate over time, affecting the ability to walk or stand up.

Katherine’s Story

Katherine was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Artist, speaker, author, graphic designer, and just a few of Katherine’s titles as an adult. Katherine was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, better known as Brittle Bone Disease.

Morgan’s Story

Morgan is thirty-three years old and from Upstate New York. In 2017, she suffered a spinal cord injury and was diagnosed as a C 4/5 ASIA A Complete.

Xavier’s Story

At eight months old, Xavier was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Quadriplegic cerebral palsy refers to difficulty in controlling movements in the arms and the legs. Numotion has been a part of Xavier’s mobility journey for 10 plus years working with ATP, Lindsey.

Jack’s Story

Jack received his first wheelchair several months ago. With his wheelchair, he and his family have been able to experience new things together. “Since getting Jack’s wheelchair we have been able to take him to so many more places and for longer periods of time. He has a better connection to his peers and environment,” said Angela.

Kevin’s Story

In June of 2013, on the same day as their wedding anniversary, Kevin was diagnosed with ALS. Kevin has had a wheelchair since 2015 and was working with a different company when he got his first wheelchair. They first heard of Numotion at an ALS clinic and he asked his wife to give Numotion a call.
