Darwin’s Story

Darwin is three years old, loves dinosaurs and is nonverbal. Skeptical of the device at first, his mom had seen incredible improvements with his communication and speech. “Before the device Darwin has never been able to clearly ask for things he wants, he was only able to point, guide you towards something, or cry. Since having the device, he can talk about his favorite things (dinosaurs!).”

Brooke’s Story

Numotion Assistive Technology Professional, Jeff, came to fit her into a wheelchair in October saying that working with Numotion has been easy. “It was a great experience. Jeff came to fit me and he was so fun to work with. I posted a video of the experience and everyone was commenting how Jeff was so passionate and perfect for this job. He made the experience seem fun rather than scary or sad,” said Brooke.

Noah’s Story

Eight-year-old Noah lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his parents, little sister, and five dogs. Born with Escobar syndrome, a condition that poses physical hurdles, Noah lives life with infectious enthusiasm.

Richmond’s Story

Numotion worked with Richmond to provide him with a power wheelchair. “I have had 18 operations, live with chronic joint pain and severe nerve damage in my spine. Not being able to walk in the mall or the park has limited my life with my family. With my wheelchair, I can move around the city with ease now. take walks with my family and kids.”

Rachel’s Story

 Rachel has been a Numotion customer since she received her first wheelchair in 2016. “Numotion has been a pleasure to work with. Numotion’s convenience of home visits is incredibly helpful.”

Monique’s Story

Diagnosed with ALS in 2018, Numotion has been a part of Monique’s journey since the beginning of her diagnosis. She first met Numotion Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Chris at her local ALS clinic where he measured her for her new wheelchair that she received in 2020.

Ricky’s Story

Ricky has been a Numotion customer for seven years and received his first power wheelchair at four years old. Ricky loves his Numotion Team and said working with them is easy.

John’s Story

John and his wife Christine live in Middletown, Delaware. Originally from Binghamton, NY, John was infected with Polio only six months before Salk’s vaccine was widely tested and as a result, was paralyzed from the neck down for six months. Through physical therapy and help from his mom, John walked a year later and played sports in high school. When he turned 40, he began showing Post-Polio Syndrome issues and is now in a power wheelchair.

Chelsie’s Story

Chelsie is 30, flirty, and thriving in Nashville, Tennessee. At 18 years old she had dreams of being a soldier in the United States Army. On her way to basic training, her car stopped working, and while sitting in the undrivable car, Chelsie was struck by another vehicle. The car accident caused Chelsie to sustain a C4/C5 spinal cord injury, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down.

Stefanie’s Story

In 2009, a C4 spinal cord injury left Stefanie, now thirty-eight years old, paralyzed from the chest down. At the time of her accident, Stefanie had just finished her first semester in advertising for her master’s degree and was an avid and accomplished equestrian. Stefanie discovered a way to bring horses back into her life through carriage driving. She is one of the only quadriplegic carriage drivers in the world, competing mostly against able-bodied drivers in the U.S.

Porter’s Story

Porter is 17 years old and living in Pocatello, Idaho. He is the 5th of 6 children with 3 older sisters and one older brother and a younger brother. Porter was injured in April of 2021 when he dove into a shallow pool and shattered his C5 and cracked his C6.

Mia’s Story

Mia is nineteen years old, living on the Central Coast with her parents and boyfriend. She loves to spend as much time in the water as possible and when they are not there, they are at Disneyland. Mia has Lupus and last year her Lupus took a turn for the worst and left her legs crooked and unstable, which led her to look for her first wheelchair.

Elizabeth’s Story

Elizabeth is from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a mom to a one-year-old little boy. She loves to travel, hike, hula hoop, and practice adaptive yoga. In August of 2015, she was on her way home when her driver’s side tire blew out and caused her car to veer off the road. Her car flipped multiple times down a hill and eventually wrapped itself around a concrete manhole resulting in her spine being severed in half.

Amaya’s Story

Amaya is fourteen years old from Slidell, Louisiana. Amaya loves music and dancing; she is a part of a special needs dance therapy group and performs in recitals every year and attends a weekly dance class. At two years old, Amaya was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and this past year was diagnosed with Lennox Gastaut syndrome, a type of epilepsy.

Wes’s Story

In April 2020,  Wes was diagnosed with ALS and received a power wheelchair from Numotion. Since Wes is a huge Minnesota Wild Ice Hockey fan, Numotion decked his chair out in Minnesota Wild colors. Stephanie, Wes’ wife said that their Numotion team has been fabulous.
