Brentwood, Tenn. (February 23, 2024) – Numotion, the nation’s leading and largest provider of products and services that provide mobility, health and personal independence is excited to introduce an Annual Impact Summary. We wanted to share some of the improvements we made in 2023 to enhance your experience with us. Our commitment is to continually improve our service to you and to advocate for the issues and causes important to you. Below are key highlights of our efforts in five focus areas.

Mobilizing: We help our customers maintain mobility and independence with products and services matched to their unique needs.
  • We delivered over 240,000 wheelchairs and other mobility devices, shipped over 65,000 catheters, and completed repairs for more than 160,000 customers across all of our brands (Numotion, Numotion Med Supplies, SpinLife, CorLife).
  • To improve the speed of service and repair for our customers, we invested in the ability to perform in-shop service at nearly all of our locations. We can perform repairs in our branches faster, which means we can also schedule in-shop service more than a week faster than in-home or in-clinic service!
  • We added 118 service techs across the country because faster repair time was one of your primary concerns.
  • To make communication simpler, we introduced two-way texting. We now send service appointment reminders via text and allow you to easily confirm, cancel, and in some cases reschedule appointments.

Advocating: We advance, promote, and champion key issues that matter to you.
  • The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced in May that it will cover seat elevation for power wheelchair users! Working side-by-side with consumer advocates, industry leaders, and elected officials, Numotion advocated for this coverage for years to help make it a reality.
  • Working alongside those same groups, Numotion continues to urge CMS to cover power standing devices. We’re committed to seeing this through to bring needed accessibility to more people.
  • We know the customer experience around service and repair needs to improve and we’re going to be a part of the solution. We continue talking with legislators, industry groups, consumers, and other stakeholders to engage in a constructive and collaborative dialogue about necessary service and repair reform.
  • In one state, our teams worked to help get legislation passed to eliminate prior authorization and medical documentation for repairs which can save 15-20 days in the process. This is just one example of state-based advocacy that we engaged in.

Educating: We deliver resources to assist with navigating accessibility obstacles, choosing the right products, and remaining current on topics that may impact you.
  • We delivered 130 hours of clinical education to seating and mobility therapists across the country. This training helps educate therapists on the latest technology, trends, and key topics, so they can efficiently assist you.

  • We helped create a Power Wheelchair Guide, led by Team Gleason focused on providing individuals with ALS the information needed to navigate myriad challenges associated with technology and reimbursement.
  • We launched a new website dedicated to highlighting the different catheter technology available, share helpful tips from other catheter users, and post videos and articles to better inform our customers who use catheters.
  • We have over 500 Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) across the country who educate and support one another though groups like our ALS Council, Pediatric Council, and Peer to Peer mentoring program. This benefits you by ensuring we can address even the most complex and rare situations and technology needs.

Connecting: We provide networks and platforms to gather and share community feedback and common experiences.
  • Our Customer Advisory Board concluded its term, and we launched a new Board in December with another outstanding group of disability advocates. This group provides tremendous insights to how Numotion can better meet your needs, while also serving as a forum to discuss actions to drive important changes in society behaviors and legislative policy.
  • Hearing from you helps make us better! We received over 5000 customer feedback surveys via numotionlistens.com.
  • We published 2 Customer Yearbooks to celebrate those we serve and highlight the world of possibilities available to those living with mobility-related disabilities.

Supporting: We fund and donate time to charitable organizations focused on areas of need across communities of those living with disabilities.
  • The Numotion Foundation contributed $440,000 to 60 entities in 2023. These funds support organizations and causes that provide research, support, educational content, and other services to those living with mobility-related disabilities.
  • Numotion employees donated over 2000 hours of their personal time to volunteer at a variety of events helping local community organizations and the causes they support. Our people do this because they are passionate about the same causes you are passionate about.
  • For the third year in a row, Disability:In recognized Numotion as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion. We are proud to have received a 100 score on their Disability Equality Index.
  • For the 10th year, Numotion employees traveled to Guatemala to work with people living with disabilities there who are in desperate need of the expertise and compassion of this talented group to provide them with mobility products and repairs.

This is just a sampling of the efforts put forth by Numotion and its employee to serve our customers. It is our honor and privilege to do so. Our goal is continuous improvement. If we have served you well this year or in the past, thank you. If we have failed to meet your expectations, we will strive to do better if we are given a chance again to do so.
